With schools, a community centre, a library, shopping and more, River Park South is a vibrant, established community in southeast Winnipeg. Click here to view the area boundaries, courtesy of Qualico Communities.
Founded in 2017, the River Park South Community Association Inc. (RPSCA) consists of a group of community-minded volunteers who came together to help foster a sense of community and make River Park South an even greater place to live.
Though only recently established, the RPSCA is beginning to plan a number of initiatives to better our community, build community spirit and give our residents a voice. We are looking for volunteers to support our efforts. Please visit the Get Involved section or contact us for more information. With your support, we can grow the RPSCA and accomplish great things in our neighborhood!
Chair – Josée-Anne Le Dorze
From its music festivals to theatre scene to restaurants, Josée-Anne loves everything Winnipeg has to offer. An avid fan of the great outdoors, Josée-Anne and her family moved to River Park South in September 2015. She looks forward to helping increase the spirit of celebration and pride in the neighbourhood as RPSCA chair.
Treasurer – Dave Rheault
A new addition to the area, Dave works in IT for Caisse Financial Group. Prior to volunteering as the RPSCA’s treasurer, he spent 10 years as a town councillor in St. Claude and hopes to bring that sense of small-town pride to River Park South. He counts playing guitar, enjoying summer activities like fishing and biking with his family, and making spreadsheets among his favourite activities.
Fundraising director – James Stefishen
James is a licensed realtor who has called River Park South home for two years, after living in St. Vital for 19 years. James can’t wait to work with both residents and local businesses in his role as RPSCA fundraising director. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing (whether on a boat or on ice) and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
Special events director – Eva Trachtenberg
Eva is a busy mother of four who recently moved to River Park South with her family. As the RPSCA’s special events director, she hopes to plan events that can help bring the neighbourhood together. On top of her penchant for event planning, Eva has an appreciation for Winnipeg summers, a good dessert and martial arts (not necessarily in that order).
Communications director – Andrea Danelak
A communications professional by day, Andrea also runs a freelance writing and editing business. She moved to River Park South with her husband (and three cats) four years ago, and loves all of the green space in the area. When she’s not acting as the RPSCA’s resident word nerd, Andrea enjoys B-list zombie movies and all things Disney.
Volunteer director – Nicole Hacault
A realtor with a passion for helping people (and an addiction to chocolate!), Nicole moved to the area with her family in late 2017. As the RPSCA’s volunteer director, she works hard to help foster a sense of community and assist in planning neighbourhood events. In her spare time, Nicole enjoys summer activities – like camping or visiting the beach or cabin – with her husband and two children.
Secretary – Celia Valel-Church
The newest addition to the RPSCA team, Celia Valel-Church grew up in River Park South and later returned to her old neighbourhood after spending a decade in Alberta. Currently a lawyer with MLT Aikins LLP, she looks forward to helping bring people together through community events as the RPSCA’s secretary. Celia lives for Winnipeg summers, spending as much time as possible outdoors with her three small children.
